‘Laila’ weakened into a cyclonic storm and caused heavy rains in Krishna, East and West Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts with the death toll at 17. A picture of human misery unfolded in Prakasam district and thousands of families were rendered homeless following inundation of many villages and towns. Other areas in Andhra continued to receive heavy rainfall on Friday.
